North West Ambulance Service’s new state-of-the-art control centre, located at Parkway Business Park in Manchester, was opened by His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester,  on 10 May 2012.

The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) has been given a glowing report by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a routine inspection last month (March).The CQC is the independent regulator of all health and social care services in England and is tasked to ensure that NHS trusts and other care providers meet Government standards of quality and safety.

The NHS is committed to ensuring that all patients have equal access to healthcare and providing a quality of care that does not depend on any personal characteristics of the patient, such as age, gender, race or religion. The EDS is a vehicle designed to support NHS organisations to understand where there may be inequality in service delivery and health outcomes, and improve on this, and also to ensure that our staff body is diverse and well-supported.
