 Listening to You

In the Spring of 2010, the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust, will be starting to draft its 2009/10 Annual Report.

Commenting on the National Audit Office’s ‘Progress on improving stroke care’ report, Nigel Edwards, policy director of the NHS Confederation, which represents over 95 per cent of NHS organisations, said:

Toothache? Aching knee? Failed contraception? These are just some of types of 999 calls received by the North West Ambulance Service that are affecting its ability to respond to urgent calls. That’s why ambulance staff are urging the public to ‘Choose Well’.

North West Ambulance Service has welcomed a six month prison sentence given to a 34 year old man after he attacked an ambulance crew.

Michael John Williams of no fixed abode was sentenced in Barrow Magistrates Court on 11 January 2010 after indecently touching two female paramedics who were called to help him at the weekend. He was also forced to sign the sex offenders register for seven years
