North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust is applying to become an NHS Foundation Trust. This means we will be run locally, with local people as members, having a say in how they wish the service to be run and developed.
Members
We want as many people as possible in the North West to become members. We hope to have a large, diverse and vibrant membership with local residents, patients and staff signing up to support their ambulance service.
We will communicate regularly with members about the Trust and what we are doing, as well as asking members for their views on our plans and letting members know how to get more involved in the work of the organisation.
As a member, you can:
- Have a say
- Help raise awareness of the service
- Represent the views and needs of the local community
- Vote in the election for the Council of Governors
- Stand for election to the Council of Governors
- Influence proposed changes to services and future plans for development
- Become a volunteer
- Be the first to hear the latest news through your free Lifeline members' magazine subcription
- Benefit from discount schemes
It will be up to you as an individual member to determine the level of involvement you wish to have. This might include:
- Simply opting to receive information and voting for Governors
- Participating in discussion groups, surveys and consultation events
- Seeking election as a Governor.
There will be two categories of members – public and staff. An individual can only belong to one category. Every member will be eligible to elect representatives to our Council of Governors.
Anyone who has been dismissed from our employment or has been involved in an incident of violence or abuse against our staff, will be prohibited from becoming a member of the Foundation Trust.
