10 September 2014 - AGM and Health Fair

Meet your Ambulance Service at Goodison Park Football Club

The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) is giving the public a unique opportunity to meet staff and take part in a wealth of activities, at our Annual General Meeting and Health Fair on Wednesday 17 September 2014 at Everton Football Club’s Goodison Park Stadium.

At the free event, members of the public will be able to meet emergency service staff, Trust volunteers and gain an insight into how the Service works.

The day will begin with the AGM at 1.30pm and visitors will hear briefings from Board members on the Trust’s performance and future plans with the opportunity to ask questions.  This will be followed by the Health Fair, which will take place from 2.30pm - 4.30pm, and includes information stands on all our services and those of our health sector and emergency service partners. So, come along and explore our emergency vehicles, or meet members of #Team999, and of course your day wouldn’t be complete without a selfie with Trust mascot, PandaMedic!

Mary Whyham, Chairman of NWAS, said: “We are delighted to be bringing our event to Liverpool this year. We as a Trust recognise the hard work the people who live and work in the region, our staff, volunteers and our emergency partners have put into the area to help the community.

“We are holding the Health Fair to celebrate and share the exciting work we are undertaking with members of the public, our stakeholders and partners. This has culminated in our improved understanding of our patients’ experiences. We wish to invite you to come and be a part of the day, meet your local ambulance service staff, share your views and of course enjoy the displays and demonstrations.”

A key aim of the event is to raise awareness of the Trust and its initiatives throughout the region. There will be a wide range of display stands offering information on various emergency and community based schemes the Trust leads on across the North West.

The event will not only raise awareness of what NWAS does as an NHS Trust, but also how the organisation works in partnership with other emergency services and healthcare professionals – some of which will be present on the day.

If you have ever wanted to find out more about NWAS or are interested in getting more involved with the work it does, then this is a great opportunity to get your questions answered first hand.
