12 Aug 2015 - Ambulance Station Open Day Success

open dayStaff at Preston Ambulance and Fire Station organised a spectacular family event showcasing the work of the two emergency services with a series of demonstrations, stalls and fun activities.

Along with the CPR and fire demonstrations, there were owl and eagle displays, donkey rides and North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) mascot, Pandamedic, was around and about meeting and greeting.

Whist making members of the public aware of the hugely important work the ambulance and fire services do, almost £300 was raised for charity, being split between North West Air Ambulance and Little Ted’s Room, which is raising funds for better facilities at Royal Preston Hospital for women and families experiencing still birth.

Sector Manager for NWAS, Graham Curry, said: “The event was a huge success, it was lovely to see so many smiling faces and everyone having a really great time.”
