27 July 2015 - Fundraising Efforts Result in AED for Hale Chain of Survival Co-ordinator for North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), Sara Harris this week met with Graham Brady MP at the Hale Women’s Institute (WI) to promote a 24-hour accessible Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at the Ashley Hotel in Hale. The WI have have been selling cakes and jam in order to fundraise for the AED with support from NWAS. Community First Responder, Janice Cheetham has since trained over 50 of their members which will be passed onto the community as well as providing signposting for the AED making it easier to be found in an emergency. Sara noted how much of a lovely and enthusiastic group the Hale WI were and they are currently fundraising for a second defibrillator to be installed in the village. The team explained to Graham Bradly MP the importance of CPR and AEDs and he has also agreed to be trained!
