27 October 2015 - Recognition for Unsung Hero

Steve McDonnallNorth West Ambulance Service (NWAS) Emergency Medical Technician 1, Steve McDonnell has been given a special commendation at this year’s Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Unsung Heroes Award ceremony for ‘consistently providing a high standard of service which is over and above the expectation of his role.’

Steve has received this accolade after being nominated by GMP Stockport Division for his work with the 999 Day where he helped co-ordinate and organise the event with GMP and arrange #Team999 engagement in the community on the day with PandaMedic. He also teaches emergency life support skills and continuously promotes NWAS and other emergency services in the communities at various events.

Steve said: “I feel honored and humbled to receive this award for the memory of my late daughter Danielle Louise and my little girl Charley Angel Louise who are my inspiration and the reason that I am so passionate about work in the community to teach and promote the service.”

Steve was presented his award from the Chief Constable of GMP, Sir Peter Fahy at Stockport Divisional Headquarters.
