02 June 2016 - NWAS congratulates Bolton Mountain Rescue Team

On behalf of the North West Ambulance NHS Trust, Chief Executive, Derek Cartwright has offered the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team the Trust’s heartfelt congratulations, following the announcement that it is to receive the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Derek comments: “Myself and my colleagues at NWAS are delighted to hear the news that the Bolton Mountain Rescue Service has been recognised in this way and is to receive the highest honour a volunteer group can receive in the UK.

“The team are based at our ambulance headquarters in Bolton, and we have a very close working relationship with them. Many of our patients owe the team a great deal – without their rescue, there are people who wouldn’t have had such positive outcomes and I know I speak for all of those and our staff when I say thank you.

“We’re very proud of our association with Bolton Mountain Rescue and wish them our warmest congratulations on this very special occasion.”
