Estates Update

Manchester North Ambulance Station – Discussions with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) have led to the development of an option to relocate the NWAS staff and vehicles at the nearby Phillips Park Fire station.  This site has spare capacity within its garage and welfare accommodation.

Whitefield Ambulance Station – Discussions with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) have led to the development of an option to relocate the NWAS staff and vehicle at the nearby Whitefield Fire station.  This site has spare capacity within its garage and welfare accommodation.

Barrow Ambulance Station – A new NHS Primary Care Facility is to be built in Barrow and NWAS have been asked to support and be included in it.  The business case has now been approved by the Board for the inclusion of NWAS in the project, and the timescale for delivery of the scheme is early 2017.

Headquarters (Ladybridge Hall, Bolton) – The refurbishment of the main Hall is almost complete, with the first phase of staff relocating from premises within the grounds by the end of November. 

The improvement works, being overseen by a Project Group, include major investment in IT, the provision of hot desking facilities and improved staff facilities together with the introduction of a new, single corporate approach to the way we work.  Adoption of this professional, open and clean working environment which reduces the amount of information left on show or Simple Steps to Smarter Working is rolled out across the organisation.
