Health fair is a hit This year’s Health Fair and Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place at the Leigh Sports Village, Leigh on Thursday 14 September, and once again was a roaring success! We showcased the vital services we provide to local communities, the changing face of our ambulance service and recruitment opportunities, as well as promoting healthy living. Over 450 guests attended, a record so far, 350 of which were children and young people from nine different schools, colleges and nurseries. There were also a number of people from disability groups and members of the public in attendance. We specifically targeted children at the health fair, as this is a key patient priority group for us, as well as young people for future recruitment and education and we think this worked well as one college gave this feedback: “Thank you for inviting us to attend the Health Fair last week. We brought along 12 students from the A-level programme and the feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive. They came back to college full of ideas for their future careers and enjoyed the event immensely.” We had 35 exhibitor stands and 19 vehicles on display from our own services, teams and projects as well as partner organisations including Greater Manchester Police and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service. We’d like to thank all staff who took time out from their busy schedules to join us and contribute to the success of this year’s event.
