Estates Update - Philips Park Fire & Ambulance Station

 Phillips Park

Ambulance staff from Manchester North ambulance station have now moved in to Philips Park Community Fire Station, and was officially opened on Tuesday 7 June 2016.  At the opening were our Chief Executive Derek Cartwright and Chair Wyn Dignan along with various GMFRS and NWAS staff members .

GMFRA Chair Cllr Acton said: “This move builds on the fantastic partnership we have developed with our blue light partners as we work together to improve the lives of people in Greater Manchester in the most effective and efficient way.

“We already have joint stations with NWAS at Irlam and have future plans for a brand new fire and ambulance station in Wigan.

“It’s really important that we develop collaboration with NWAS colleagues and it’s something that’s expected of us by the people we work for and represent in our communities.”

NWAS Chair Wyn Dignan said: “We completely value the partnership working that we have in place with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.

“It is absolutely about the people we are here to serve. It’s not about buildings and signs – it’s about real partnership working and we look forward to that developing over the months and years to come.”
