Estates Update

As reported before, we are undertaking a review of all our estates and the options we are working towards for all sites are; closure, relocation, refurbishment, co-location with other emergency services or NHS organisations or no action.

Below are the details of current development projects:

  • Ladybridge Hall - The transformation of the Headquarters site, Ladybridge Hall, is being undertaken via a phased programme of works which will realise major investment in the latest IT, see corporate teams operating predominantly from one site and provide improved staff facilities.
  • Haydock Vehicle Workshop - The Haydock site is a purpose built facility that will maximise the availability of vehicles and hours of service cover. Its location is adjacent to the M6 and A580 which provides good communication routes in all directions.  The facility is due to be fully operational in July 2015.
  • Approval has now been given for the relocation of vehicles and staff from Lancaster and Morecambe Ambulance Stations to property in the ownership of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, with the subsequent disposal of the surplus ambulance stations.

In additional to the above, an Outline Business Case (OBC) to relocate the Cheshire and Mersey Emergency Operations Centre and elements of the corporate services to a new centre on the site of Mersey Fire and Rescue Service has been approved by the Board.   The new facility will fully integrate with the Joint Command and Control Centre of Merseyside Police and Mersey Fire and Rescue Service and will provide us with an exciting and new flagship facility.

Please note that stakeholders will be notified individually regarding any proposed changes or updates to their local stations.
