Cyber attack

Back in May, the NHS has suffered a ‘cyber-attack’ when a piece of ransomware infected computer machines across the country, rendering them completely useless.

The virus was spread via an email attachment and, once infected, the machines had to be completely rebuilt.

We remained virus free thanks to a lot of hard work by our Information Technology Team. As well as taking steps internally to protect our systems, we were also able to support neighbouring trusts to help them return to normality.
