Membership & FT Governor Results

The Service's Foundation Trust Governor elections were completed this quarter, and the Board of Governors announced at the end of January.

In October, nomination forms were issued by the Electoral Reform Service to those who wanted to put themselves forward to stand in elections.  December saw the deadline for returning nomination forms, and the publication of manifestos for Staff and Public Governors.  In January, voting packs were issued to all NWAS members.  With a deadline for return of votes on January 28, the elected Staff and Public Governors were announced on January 29 2013; and can be seen here.

The Trust would like to thank all candidates who stood in the elections and to those who have been elected and to wish them good luck in their new roles. The Trust would also like to express thanks to everyone who voted for the candidates they felt would best represent their view and needs.

The role of the Governor is to work with the Board of Directors to steer the Trust forward, influence plans for the future and provide the crucial link between the Service and communities in the North West of England.

The Council is made up of 37 members, including the Chairman, of which 20 members represent staff constituencies.

Mary Whyham, Chairman of the Council of Governors at North West Ambulance Service, said: "We're very excited about working with our Governors to ensure that we continue to deliver a first-rate ambulance service that is responsive to the needs of local people."
