Celebrating 10 Years of NWAS with the BBC As part of the 10 year anniversary of NWAS, the BBC spent time with all areas of the Trust for a week in September. It specifically focussed on the changes to the service and our achievements during the last decade, our challenges now and how ambulance services could change in the future. The week consisted of interviews with senior managers, featured a day in the life of Parkway EOC for TV, radio interviews with a student paramedic looking at their hopes for a new career and an experienced Paramedic who spoke about his experiences on the road. There was also an interview with a Lancashire CFR and a ride out with a PES crew from Warrington filmed on a weekend. Other features aired during the rest of the week were interviews with patients sourced through compliment letters, a TV feature on HART undertaking a practical training exercise, a ride out with PTS in Oldham and an interview with PTS Control staff. The week was a great success and a fantastic opportunity to get our messages to the public, to talk about the positive achievements of the Trust and showcase the wide variety of work the Trust undertakes.
