Useful Information Greater Manchester Mobilisation NWAS now delivers its Patient Transport Service in Lancashire, Cumbria, Merseyside and Greater Manchester. Although this unfortunately means that we no longer provide the Service to Cheshire, it does mean that we regain the contract for Greater Manchester which was previously delivered by private company, Arriva. For the few months prior to mobilisation of the new contact in July, the Trust has been working to ensure that everybody who uses our Services, including a wide range of patients and healthcare professionals, have been made aware of the changes taking place. A stakeholder event was held in Greater Manchester aiming to understand how we can work together and to discuss how the contract will operate, provide understanding of what the service delivers especially who can use it and where they can be taken. In addition, information was provided on how journeys should be booked, who is responsible for booking and other useful advice. During the event, attendees were given the opportunity to speak with senior managers who oversee our Patient Transport Service and raise any concerns or queries that they had. Overall, the event was extremely positive and feedback showed that stakeholders felt that they had been well informed about the changes taking place in the new contract. This was followed up by sending feedback packs through the post and additional briefing documents have been sent to GP surgeries, nursing and care homes and relevant healthcare professionals.
