Lucie’s Pantry has recently opened in Bolton as a social supermarket and provides a sustainable and affordable source of food and household essentials to members of the community who are struggling financially. The shop has been inundated with customers.
111 Clinical Services Manager Susan Sumner responded to an urgent appeal that was put out for donations of toiletries and tinned and/or dried foods and organised for 111 staff to donate foods or money in exchange for coming to work in their own clothes.
Dozens of items were donated plus a total of £156 was collected and spent on further food and toiletries. Last week we presented a car full of goods to Lucie’s Pantry.
Susan Sumner said: “To say they were overwhelmed by how much we donated is an understatement! Once again thank you for your generous support.”
