North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) is on the search for a new Chairman when Wyn Dignan’s term comes to an end on 31 January 2019.
The person will be an exceptional leader to the Board of Directors who will continue the trust’s improvement by sharing their talents and expertise to help transform the trust and make a positive difference to the community.
NWAS provides 24 hour, 365 days a year urgent and emergency care and patient transport services to those in need. It also runs the NHS 111 service in the North West which has a population of over seven million people across a geographical area of approximately 5,400 square miles.
Applications are welcome from diverse backgrounds who can apply their experience from different sectors, as well as from health, to this demanding role.

- The closing date for receipt of applications is 12 noon on 8 November 2018.
- The shortlisted candidates will be invited to the trust’s Headquarters in Bolton to meet groups of its key stakeholders during end November 2018/early December 2018.
- The final panel interviews will take place on 10 December 2018 in Manchester.
- The proposed start date is 1 February 2019, when the retiring Chair’s term of office comes to an end, although the successful candidate will be invited to undertake some preparatory work during January.
