A paramedic from Crewe is taking control of @TeamNWAS; an Instagram account run entirely by different faces from the frontline of North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
Eve Lyons has worked for the ambulance service for 12 years. Talking about what people will see her share on the @TeamNWAS account, Eve said: “I work a variation of 12 hour shifts on the ambulance with a colleague or solo on the rapid response vehicle (RRV).
“Everyday at work is different. It’s surreal, bizarre, weird and wonderful. I work with lots of weird and wonderful people too! We work hard but we always try and have a giggle with one other along the way- that’s what gets us through as well as my destressing OCD cleaning and tidying.
“I have a daughter and spend my time away from work doing all sorts of things with her. We love to walk and explore and I especially like lying somewhere hot and sunny as much as possible.”
@TeamNWAS is the only UK ambulance service Instagram account run entirely by the workforce. Each week somebody different takes control of the account, giving followers a behind the scenes peek into what life as an ambulance service worker is all about.
NWAS employs almost 6,000 staff in over 300 different roles across the region. From paramedics, dispatchers and ambulance care assistants to 111 health advisors and urgent care practitioners – everyone contributes in one way or another to saving lives every single day and this is what the service hopes to share with the public.
