Dad and daughter duo Brian and Yasmin have been responding together on an overtime shift last week and we think it’s super sweet.
Brian joined the service as an emergency medical technician back in 2009 after being inspired by the treatment his father received. He has since qualified as a paramedic and 24 year old Yasmin has followed in his footsteps by joining the trust too and has been undertaking an emergency medical technician apprenticeship since last year – due to complete this very soon.
With mum, Angela also having worked for NWAS for a number of years and now training to be a paramedic, Yasmin always knew she wanted to work in healthcare and was inspired by her parents to join the trust. She said: “My mum has inspired us both to do this job, to never give up and that you can work your way up. That’s what we hope to do.”
We’d like to name the three of them our first ‘#TeamNWAS Superstars’.
Yasmin’s message to the public: “Please stay at home unless it’s for something essential. Please only ring for an ambulance if you really need to and keep up to date with the guidance available from the government. Hang in there, be nice to each other and stay safe!”
Look out for more posts in the coming days as we celebrate our amazing staff.
