The Patient Experience Network National Awards (PENNA) are the first and only awards programme to recognise best practice in patient experience across all facets of health and social care in the UK. The Patient Experience Network (PEN) National Awards are presented and delivered by the Patient Experience Network (PEN). PEN’s vision is to create a unique platform and resource hub of best practice methods and models across the healthcare industry.
Our PPP gives members of the public a voice and the chance to have their views acted upon. Despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, our PPP has grown in strength and has over 200 members made up of representatives from local communities and partner organisations to influence improvements in our emergency, urgent care, patient transport and NHS 111 services.
Over 100 opportunities have been offered to our PPP members since 2019, making a significant contribution to Ambulance service delivery through ‘lived experience’ involvements. Some examples of these include trust Strategy Refresh, Right Care at Home Project, and the Patient Transport (PTS) Mystery Shopper initiative.
Head of Communications and Patient Engagement Julie Treharne said: “We are really pleased with the progress of our PPP and their invaluable support to service improvements at NWAS. I am delighted to share this has also been recognised nationally with the PPP being shortlisted by PENNA in the ‘Engaging and Championing the Public’ award category.
This is an excellent attainment for our PPP, achieving shortlisted national award finalist status for the second time already in 2022.
If you would like to become a member of the PPP and/or require member on becoming a PPP member, please visit our PPP web page.
