These clinicians will be trained to handle both NHS 111 and 999 calls. This will enable us to be more responsive to demand and will reduce clinical queue waiting times for our patients.
Vacancies will open on Monday 17 June and we’re looking for applications from paramedics with current Health Care Professions Council registration and nurses with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration who have completed their newly qualified period with post registration clinical experience in a face-to-face primary or acute care setting, emergency department or pre-hospital role.
We appreciate the prospect of working through an application process can be quite daunting for any job. We’re hosting some support sessions starting next month which will walk you through this new role and provide an opportunity for you to ask any questions.
We have vacancies in Liverpool, Manchester, Bolton and Broughton. So, if you have a passion for helping those who need us the most and you are ready to make your next career move away from a hospital or a community setting – this is the job for you.
The following sessions will be held on Microsoft Teams:
Thursday 6.06.24, 10.00-11.30
Wednesday 12.06.24, 17.30-19.00
Friday 14.06.24, 10.00-11.30
Monday 17.06.24, 18.00-19.30
Thursday 20.06.24, 18.00-19.30

As an urgent and emergency care clinician you will use your clinical judgement to provide advice or signpost patients to appropriate care. You will be responsible for the telephone and video assessment of callers with a wide spectrum of clinical conditions ensuring patients access the appropriate level of care for them, including advice to manage their symptoms at home.
You will not only be responsible for the telephone assessment of patients across NHS 111 and 999, but also for the supervision, teaching precepting and mentoring of other staff including students, clinicians and call handlers.
You will have the ability to problem-solve, adapt and respond to changing situations and the skills needed to motivate and support your colleagues.
We hope to see you at one of our sessions.
