Sadly, we are so sorry to share that our Cross Bay Walk on Sunday 31 August has had to be cancelled due to safety concerns in the River Kent.

The decision has been made by the organisers at the Guide over Sands Trust due to there being lots of fresh water following the recent weather conditions, meaning that there are lots of soft areas on the sands, the depth in the river is unpredictable, and more rain is forecast for the weekend which makes it unsafe. Whilst we are disappointed, everyone’s safety is paramount and it’s simply not safe to go ahead with the event.
