Led by Shaf Rahim, Patient Inclusion Manager, the event showcased an innovative resource developed through the NWAS Patient Inclusion Project. The CPR Card provides clear, easy-to-follow CPR guidance, alongside QR codes linking to demonstration videos in Cantonese and Mandarin, with accessible subtitle options.
The launch event featured presentations, the official unveiling of the CPR Card and interactive CPR demonstrations delivered by our charity-funded community resuscitation officers. Attendees enthusiastically took part in hands-on training, highlighting the community’s commitment to learning vital skills that could help save lives in an emergency.
Shaf Rahim said: “It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout and the enthusiasm from the community. The CPR Card is about giving people the confidence to act in those critical moments before emergency services arrive. By providing culturally appropriate and accessible resources, we are helping to break down barriers and ensure more lives can be saved.”

The initiative reflects NWAS’s ongoing commitment to reducing health inequalities and ensuring that life-saving information is accessible to all communities across the North West.
Following the success of the launch, plans are already underway to expand the approach to other communities across the region. A follow-up community engagement session will take place on Saturday 20 June 2026 at St George’s Community Centre, Bothwell Road, Collyhurst, Manchester, providing further opportunities for residents to learn CPR and build confidence in responding to emergencies.
