The project has changed how we record, understand and use safety information across the organisation.
What started as a move from the older DatixWeb system has grown into a wider programme to improve data quality, strengthen governance, and make better use of information to support learning and safer care.
The team introduced DatixCloudIQ (DCIQ) as a single system for managing incidents, complaints, learning from deaths, legal cases and risk. This means information is now in one place, making it easier to see what is happening across the organisation.
New real-time dashboards and reporting tools now give staff a clearer picture of trends, pressures and safety issues. This helps teams spot problems earlier, respond more quickly, and support improvements where they are needed most.
The project has also improved how we manage areas such as reporting violence and aggression and complaint handling. These processes are now more structured, quicker, and easier to track.
Staff are using the system more confidently, with safety data increasingly seen as a tool for learning and improvement in addition to official reporting.
Pam Morris, DCIQ Portfolio and Assurance Manager, says: “This project has really changed the way we use and understand our data. Having everything in one place means we can see the bigger picture much more clearly, spot issues sooner, and support teams to make improvements that directly benefit patient safety, staff safety and wider organisational learning.
“Our DCIQ system is now a trusted ‘single source of truth’ that supports day-to-day decision-making, governance and safety work across the organisation.”
The RLDatix Awards recognise teams and organisations that are improvingsafety, workforce effectiveness and quality of care across health and care services.
Congratulations to everyone involved, and good luck for the awards ceremony in July this year.
