“On behalf of everyone at North West Ambulance Service, I want to once again offer our heartfelt condolences to the families of Elsie, Bebe and Alice, and to everyone affected by this terrible incident. Our thoughts remain with them and the Southport community, whose strength and dignity have been clear throughout this process.
“I am immensely proud of NWAS colleagues who responded on the day. They worked in harrowing circumstances, caring for children and adults with severe injuries, demonstrating exceptional professionalism, compassion and courage. We recognise the lasting impact incidents like this can have on our staff, and we remain committed to supporting their health and wellbeing.
“Thank you to Sir Adrian Fulford for his work in producing today’s report. I welcome the findings and will now take the necessary time to carefully consider the recommendations, understand how they relate to our service, and how best to take them forward. We want to be clear that learning from this and making improvements will be a priority”.
