We have over 1,000 active volunteers in various roles including staff volunteers, and this Volunteers Week, we’d like to tell you that we couldn’t do what we do without your incredible support.

We have many types of NWAS volunteers:

• Community first responders (CFRs) / extended community first responders (ECFRs) within our paramedic emergency service.
• BASICS Medical responders who can respond alongside NWAS colleagues.
• Staff responders who respond voluntarily when not at work.
• Volunteer car drivers within our patient transport service (PTS) to take people to and from routine appointments.
• Members of our patient and public panel (PPP) who help shape NWAS services.
