This project, also known as the Community Resilience project, is thanks to a £142,000 grant from NHS Charities Together and Omaze, with the purpose of ensuring Community Public Access Defibrillators (CPADs) are available and accessible 24/7 and are ready to save a life.
The project involves:
- Funding training resources for communities including multilingual and multi-faith training packages handouts and aid memoirs. Training equipment such as mannequins and AED trainers will also be funded to enable sustainable outcomes, along with IT equipment to enhance the quality of the training delivered.
- Resources are also provided to our existing network of volunteer CFRs for their own training purposes, further enhancing the quality of life-saving CPR administered generally across our region.
- Supporting the infrastructure of volunteers delivering community-based life-saving training and education across the North West footprint and includes out of pocket expenses
- Replenishment of consumables for community sites and hard-to-reach areas.
- Funding more defibrillators for trainers and access to translation/interpretation services where needed.
- Recruitment and funding for a Cardiac Arrest Project Lead, working within our Community Resuscitation Team and alongside our ICC colleagues, to establish better utilisation of defibrillation and education.
- The recruitment of Defibrillation Officers to support communities through repatriation and replenishment of existing defibrillators within communities.
