Mike Pain, who is an eCFR which means he has had further clinical training, has been volunteering with us in his role for 16 years, while Brandon Leigh has been a community first responder with us for eight years.
Their commitment was recently recognised at the Wilmslow Town Council Community Awards 2026, where they were presented with a community award in the ‘Outstanding Support for Emergency Services’ category for the vital support they provide within their local area.
Community Resuscitation Development Officer Sam Sellars says, “As volunteers who live within the communities they serve, Mike and Brandon play an important role in helping to provide an early response to certain emergencies and supporting local people within their community when they need it most. This award is truly represents their passion, commitment and dedication.
“Their team is continuing to grow form strength to strength, with new Community First Responder Rick Lane recently joining. Mike is mentoring Rick as he develops his skills and experience, and will be a valuable addition to their team, helping to increase the cover they can provide to local residents.
“After 16 years of volunteering, Mike continues to share his experience and knowledge with the next generation of community first responders, helping to ensure their community continues to benefit from this vital service.”
Congratulations to Mike and Brandon on their well-deserved community award, and welcome to Rick!
