Our Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) Strategy 2019-2024 sets out how NWAS can play a key role in developing a more joined-up urgent and emergency care system, ready to respond to our patients’ needs. Our strategy sets out where we want to be and how we will get there, with a shared purpose, vision, aims and objectives. In May 2023, the trust board approved the refresh of the 2022-2025 strategy, identifying that in the annual plan for 2023-2024 there will be an emphasis on urgent and emergency care recovery, Freedom to Speak Up and creating a safe working environment free from discrimination.
This strategy outlines a bold commitment from NWAS to go even further to reduce avoidable harm and unwarranted variation, exceeding the expectations of our patients and staff. It sets the scene for the next five years.
