Alternative transport

If you're not eligible for our patient transport service there may be other transport options available.

If you have requested patient transport but were deemed ineligible, it is important to us that you are signposted to local alternative transport providers. Our contact centre staff should have provided you with the following contact numbers:

  • NHS low income scheme help with healthcare travel costs – 0300 330 1343
  • Citizens Advice Bureau – 0800 144 88 48

There are also many organisations which provide community transport for those with difficulty accessing public transport.  Below is a list of providers by county.  Please note that the listed organisations are independent transport providers and not associated with NWAS. They may charge for transport.

If you are a community transport provider and wish to add or amend this list, please contact [email protected].
