As a disability confident employer, we have demonstrated that we are benefiting from being able to draw from the widest possible pool of talent and are getting the right people for our business. By stepping up to become a disability confident leader we have also demonstrated that we act as a champion for disability confident within our local and business communities and encourage and support businesses in our supply chains and networks to become disability confident.
Our re-accreditation was independently validated by an existing disability confident leader organisation and also the review of the evidence was looked at internally through our own NWAS Disability Network leadership team.
Carolyn Wood, Director of Finance and Executive Champion for the Disability Network, said, “As the executive champion of the Disability Network, I am delighted that the trust has been successfully revalidated as a level 3 disability confident leader for a second term of 3 years.
This recognises the work that our Disability Network leadership along with the trust ED&I advisor have completed to review, refresh and revise our evidence to retain our status as a disability confident Leader. In doing so this confirms our continuing commitment to getting the right people into the organisation and keeping and developing our people through fair opportunities to jobs and career progression resulting in improved representation of diverse groups.
Through the work of the network, we will continue to make sure that everyone has the best experience of joining and working for the trust, leading to delivering the best outcomes for the communities we serve.”
