The wellbeing of our staff is a key priority for us and that of the wider NHS, and it is an important part of the NHS People Promise, which aims to improve the experience of working in the NHS for everyone.
The Wellbeing Hub and Workforce Wellbeing Team

Hosted on our staff intranet, the Wellbeing Hub is our one-stop-shop for staff health and wellbeing. It provides a single point of contact for staff and managers to access information about the range of services available to support their wellbeing.
We also have a dedicated helpline and email inbox where staff can seek confidential advice, support and signposting from members of our Workforce Wellbeing team. The team also regularly get out to staff and sites to promote wellbeing services, campaigns and initiatives, including our annual Wellbeing Festivals and Roadshows.
Employee Assistance Programme
This provides 24/7 confidential support to help manage personal or work related issues that may affect your wellbeing, performance or mental health, including through helplines, short-term counselling and expert legal, financial and debt advice.
Occupational Health
Our Occupational Health Service helps to protect your physical and mental health, with skilled occupational health professionals providing dedicated counselling and physiotherapy support.
Flu protection
The flu vaccine is offered to all NHS staff every year to reduce the risk of healthcare workers contracting the flu virus and passing it on to their patients or friends and family. It’s the best way to minimise the risk of catching flu, especially over the winter period when there’s lots of bugs and illnesses around.
Chaplaincy
Our dedicated Chaplain for Staff Wellbeing can offer confidential support to help you navigate change or challenges, whatever your faith, belief, or background.
Quiet rooms
We have quiet rooms available across several trust sites for you to take some time away from the demands of the day, pray or for us for nursing mothers.
North West Ambulance Charity
Our independent North West Ambulance Charity supports and enhances our work by funding life-saving equipment and other projects to benefit the health, wellbeing and safety of patients, staff, and our communities.
